Agistri is a peaceful, beautiful pine covered island in the Saronic Gulf next door to the larger island of Aegina. It is just one hour away from the busy port of Piraeus and once here you immediately start to relax. Agistri is the smallest of the Saronic Islands and has three main villages, Megalohori ( Milos ), Skala and Limenaria. The island is ideal for those looking for a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday. Nightlife can be enjoyed too, but is much more low key than on the larger Greek islands

Megalohori ( Milos) is the more traditional village with white washed houses, bougainvillea and flowers everywhere. It has several friendly eating places, a couple of bars and a nightclub. There is of course the bakery and two mini markets for your supplies. The church is also centrally situated and services held on sundays.

Skala is a twenty minute walk away along the beach road which is lit at nightime. Here it's rather busier with plenty of restaurants and bars. Both villages have a sandy beach ~ Skala having the larger one.

Limenaria can be reached by the island bus or by hiring a bicycle or motorbike. Here time has stood still. There is no tourist accommodation available but a small taverna offers refreshments and the chance to buy handwoven rugs.

Beyond Limenaria is the beach at Aponissos. Here it is beautiful for swimming and snorkelling.

Weekends in July and August get busy with visiting Athenians, so room reservations are a must.
